All of the boards we hire out are made of foam. That means not only will it not hurt if you get hit, but they’re really stable, making it easy to catch waves. Which is what we all want, right?
We have a range of rental boards that are perfect if you’re a complete beginner just looking to have a bit of fun.
How hire works
- Find our tent on Main Beach, opposite 27 Marine Parade
- Pick your board and wetsuit, and we’ll help with sizing
- Head out for 2 or 4 hours, then bring it all back to the tent
- Book ahead in the busy summer months, or just walk up
Tips for your first surf
Head to Mussel Rock, Shark Alley or Mount Main Beach for the best beginner waves. Keep clear of the flagged swimming area, as that’s for swimmers only. Stay in your depth, catch loads of waves and, most of all, have fun.

How long can I hire a surfboard for?
You can rent a surfboard for either 2 or 4 hours. If you’d like to hire it for longer, just let us know and we’ll sort something out.
Can I just turn up and pay?
Yup, for sure. You can just turn up, say hi and we’ll sort out the rest from there. Or you can book online too. Feel free to give us a call if you’d like any further info.
What size surfboards do you rent?
We have a range of surfboard sizes for hire from 6ft right the way up to 9ft.
Are the surfboards good for beginners?
Yes, our hire equipment is perfect for beginners, designed specifically for stability, ease of use and safety.
How about wetsuits?
Don’t stress on the wetsuit front, we’ve got heaps of sizes for everyone. Young, old, and everything in between.
