WHAT TO EXPECT
Private surf lessons are a way for you to get tailored, bespoke surf tuition alongside your own personal surf coach.
In these lessons we do away with any structured pathways, and instead adapt the lesson to the students present.
You'll be guided as fast or a slow as necessary with a coach constantly on-hand to provide expert feedback and assistance at all times.
A great option for people that want that extra personal touch, or kids that require the undivided attention of a coach at all times.

All equipment; Surfboards & Wetsuits are provided in-house, free of charge.
However if you have your own equipment, feel free to bring that along too.
FAQ'S
As these are beginner lessons we start with the absolute basics, and make sure to take care of all our students regardless of confidence or ability.
We here to guide, to teach you, and most importantly to have an awesome experience, so you can take things at your own pace throughout.
No prior experience is necessary! Our lessons cater to absolute beginners.
These lessons put you in an group environment with up to 8 students, as such we have a policy for children under the age of 10 to be accompanied by a non-surfing adult. A wetsuit will be provided for the overseeing adult free of charge.
We also offer daily lessons exclusively for kids which may be more appropriate, you can find out about our Kids Group Surfing Lessons here.
If the conditions aren’t suitable for surfing, we’ll reschedule the lesson where possible.
Bad weather doesn't affect us in any way. We're on the beach getting wet anyway, so we embrace it all.
21 Days notice is required to cancel your booking.
Upon cancellation you have the option to either receive a refund minus 30% administration/setup costs, or you can opt for a 100% credit note to be used towards the same booked service at the next available dates offered with the Mount Surf School.
Less than 14 days notice no refund and full credit issued less 40% administration costs.
Less than 7 days notice, no refund or credit is available.

My son's (6 and 9) had the most amazing time this week at Mount Surf School! They started with a private lesson from Giacomo, who they utterly adored and who ignited their love of surfing. Then they moved onto the holiday surf school programme with Joshua, Giacomo and team over the next couple of days where they surfed up a storm, making friends with other gromms and having a blast while also achieving loads of surf goals such as catching their own waves, solo, after only 3 days. Cannot praise these guys enough. Such a fantastic team 💥 We will definitely be back next year!

Such a great experience!! I booked a private session for my brother and I and we were both up and going by the end of the lesson! We were with Yente who was so patient, comfortable in the water, knowledgeable and fun. Would recommend to anyone wanting to give surfing a go.

The most amazing experience! My partner and I booked a private session. Yente was an amazing instructor and was extremely encouraging. We loved how relaxed the session was, allowing us to give it a go rather than structured/step by step. Although in saying that, Yente was still very hands on, constantly giving us feedback/tips and keeping us engaged. Booking process was extremely simple plus easy to find along beach.
