Our Kids 3-Day Surf Lesson Package is a fun-filled adventure designed to take your child’s surfing to the next level! Over three consecutive days, they’ll receive personalised instruction tailored to help them build skills, confidence, and a love for the waves. Available exclusively during the summer holidays, this program is perfect for families holidaying in the Mount.

What to expect
It’s the ultimate mix of challenge and fun, giving your kids an exciting activity to dive into while creating unforgettable memories. We provide everything they’ll need, including top-quality surfing equipment—just bring their energy and enthusiasm for the ocean!
Equipment
All equipment (surfboards & wetsuits) is provided free of charge. Keen to keep surfing after your lesson? Check out our surfboard hire rates for more details.
However if you have your own equipment, feel free to bring that along too.
The minimum age to participate in these lessons is 6 unless prior consent.

Do my kids need any prior surfing experience?
No prior experience is necessary! Our lessons cater to absolute beginners.
How do you ensure my child’s safety in the water?
Safety is our top priority. Our instructors are certified in first aid, CPR, and surf rescue. We also use beginner-friendly soft boards and teach in safe, supervised conditions to Surfing NZ ration guidelines.
What if the conditions are unsafe?
If the conditions aren’t suitable for surfing, we’ll reschedule the lesson or provide alternative beach activities.
What happens in bad weather?
Bad weather doesn’t affect us in any way. We’re on the beach getting wet anyway, so we embrace it all.
Will my child be able to stand up on the board after one lesson?
Many kids do manage to stand up during their first lesson! However, our focus is on building skills and having fun rather than rushing progress.
Can parents watch the lessons?
Absolutely! You’re welcome to watch from the beach and cheer your child on.
What’s the cancellation policy?
21 Days notice is required to cancel your booking.
Upon cancellation you have the option to either receive a refund minus 30% administration/setup costs, or you can opt for a 100% credit note to be used towards the same booked service at the next available dates offered with the Mount Surf School.
Less than 14 days notice no refund and full credit issued less 40% administration costs.
Less than 7 days notice, no refund or credit is available.
